Getting started

A clear path from your records to a first inventory.

The fastest start is not a perfect spreadsheet. It is a clear asset boundary, a source register, a few months of activity and the inputs the chosen methods actually need.

A practical start

Four steps, with your team in control.

  1. 01

    Set the boundary

List facilities, countries, operatorship and equity shares for the reporting period. Agree which organisational boundary and reporting year you intend to use.

  2. 02

    Map sources and meters

Start with the source register or an asset template. Identify activity streams, meter tags, quantities, units and reference conditions where relevant.

  3. 03

    Gather period data

Bring monthly readings or an existing workbook, plus gas analyses and method-specific inputs such as heating values, density or efficiency when required.

  4. 04

    Review before commit

Upload a generated template, review findings and preview changes. The app surfaces missing inputs and factors rather than silently choosing an unsupported value.

Readiness checklist

What to bring to the first working session.

You do not need every row complete to begin. These inputs help identify scope, method and factor gaps early.

InformationExamplesWhy it matters
Assets and boundariesFacility list, country, operator, reporting-year start, ownership shareDefines consolidation and reporting scope.
Sources and streamsP&IDs/source register, meter tags, stream roles, units and reference conditionsMaps activity to a supported method.
Monthly activityMeter readings, fuel use, flare/vent events, electricity and heatSupplies the period-by-period calculation inputs.
Analyses and method inputsGas composition; method-required heating value, density, efficiency or operating hoursSome methods require these values; the app reports when they are missing.
Scope 2 evidenceElectricity use, supplier/region, contractual instruments and residual-mix evidence if market-based reporting is requiredFactor availability depends on jurisdiction, year and the evidence supplied.

Coverage and limitations

Check the inputs before you promise a result.

Methods do not guarantee every factor

A supported calculation method may still require a source-, country- or year-specific factor. If a suitable factor is not available, the platform reports the gap; your team can supply a documented custom factor or agree a supported path with FEEC.

Timeline depends on readiness

A first dashboard within one to two weeks is a target for a scoped onboarding with timely asset, source and activity data; it is not a service-level guarantee. Factor sourcing, historical-data cleanup, legal review and official submission templates can change the timeline.

Let's talk

Start with the data you already have.

Bring a source register or recent workbook. We will identify the supported methods, required inputs and open factor gaps before proposing onboarding scope.
